Beneath a Painted Sky

There’s always excitement and anticipation when you begin working on a new cd, and
as you see it come together, the excitement builds. That was certainly the case for
this cd. We were thrilled to once again work with Troy Engle from Nashville. He is
a super talent, and is such a pleasure to work with, and he brought Jamie Graves in
for some fine piano tracks. Troy and Serge collaborated on the arrangements and, asalways, did a fantastic job. It was wonderful to work with JP Cormier again, as he
plays some fine clawhamer banjo on “Applejack”. Meaghan Blanchard, a gifted young
singer from PEI, with the voice of an angel, graces the album with her sweet harmony.

A special addition is having Lorrie Carter-Bennett (daughter of Anita Carter) sing on
this project. We were introduced to each other through the “Daughters of Bluegrass” and we bonded right away. It’s like we’ve always been friends. When Dixie Hall handed me “A Carter Family Song”, it was a natural fit to have Lorrie sing this withme. She also joins me on “Gathering Flowers from the Hillside”, a song written by A.P. Carter. “Fair Thee Well”, a great song written by Kathy Kallick, spoke to me when Ifirst heard it. This is a parting phrase used by Miss Dixie each time we part company,and this song covers all the bases.

Each project brings new collaborations. This time I wish to thank Bryan Poirier for
his talent on the autoharp, bass and lead guitar. And Tommy Detamore, you make
that steel guitar cry. Thank you to Louise Vessey for her fantastic camera work and creativity with my graphics. Such a talent at so many things. Thank you to Rebekah Long for your graphic assistance. To my dear friend, Jeanette, you’re always there when I need you!

Thank you to my loving husband, Serge, who makes it all happen! WOW, the dreams
we’ve shared together! Thank you to all the radio DJ’s for supporting my music and bringing it to your audiences. We appreciate you all so much! And to all my fans who continue to support me – many of you have become life long friends.
